Late Night DJ

Late Night DJ is a short first-person horror game that places you in the role of a radio host during an overnight shift at a quiet, isolated station. At first, your duties seem routine: announce the next track, check equipment, and respond to the occasional call. But over time, strange messages and distorted signals begin interrupting the broadcast. The station, once a place of silence and control, slowly turns into a space where something unseen is listening — and moving closer. You begin to wonder whether the voice on the line is a caller or something else entirely.

The station, once a place of silence and control, slowly turns into a space where something unseen is listening — and moving closer. Key Features:

  • A single-session experience focused on atmosphere and tension.
  • Audio design that reacts to your actions and choices.
  • Story events based on a real Reddit tale, now lost.
  • A confined setting with escalating pressure.

The Station Becomes a Maze

As you explore the broadcast room and nearby spaces, you uncover strange equipment malfunctions, flickering lights, and subtle changes in the environment. The phone on the desk begins ringing more often, and the messages grow increasingly personal. Vending machines hum too loudly, and windows show shadows that shouldn’t be there. Each task—answering a call, checking the hallway, adjusting the antenna—becomes more difficult to perform as the space begins to close in on you. What began as a late shift slowly mutates into a trap, with no indication of what is real.

Decisions Determine Survival

Late Night DJ includes branching events that lead to different outcomes based on your responses. How you answer the phone, how long you hesitate, and which parts of the station you investigate will all affect what ending you receive. There are no traditional enemies, but the presence watching you changes based on your behavior. Whether you face it directly or try to avoid it, the tension comes not from what chases you, but from what knows you’re there. The horror unfolds quietly, giving you control — until it doesn’t.

Telling a Story Without Telling It

The game uses minimal dialogue and no cutscenes, relying instead on static, sound, and subtle shifts in the world to build dread. Posters on the walls, files scattered on desks, and fragments of voice logs piece together a story the player must interpret. The narrative is loose but intentional, echoing the format of the deleted online post that inspired it. Rather than delivering the full picture, the game leaves gaps the player must fill in, using fear, doubt, and their own decisions to shape what the story becomes.
