THE MIDNIGHT BUS

The Midnight Bus begins with a trip through snowy streets on the last available vehicle. The player takes a seat as one of the few passengers on board. The atmosphere is quiet, with the route stretching into isolated roads. At some point, the character loses awareness, and when they wake up, everything is different. The driver is gone, the other passengers are missing, and only the interior of the bus remains.

Exploration and Key Interactions

The player moves using standard keys and interacts with the environment through a simple input system. Most of the gameplay takes place within the space of the bus, with small changes triggered by movement or inspection. Each interaction reveals something new about what has happened or what is about to occur. There are no enemies, no inventory, and no complex puzzles, but progress depends on where the player looks and what they notice.

·         Use W, A, S, D to move

·         Press F to interact with objects

·         Shift allows running, C activates crouch

·         Explore the bus fully to trigger all events

·         Complete the sequence to reach the ending

Changes Inside a Fixed Space

Although the bus does not physically change, new events begin to happen as the player moves through the aisle. Lights may flicker, doors may shift, and sounds begin to break the silence. There is no interface on screen, so the player must rely on instinct to navigate. The space feels familiar but grows more unstable as each step takes the player closer to a conclusion. Movement becomes less about reaching a location and more about triggering moments.

Session Flow and Narrative Shape

A single run of the game lasts under thirty minutes, but each moment builds toward a single point. There are no options to save or reload. Once the ending arrives, the session is complete. The player can restart to re-experience the sequence or to observe new details that were missed earlier. The order of events remains mostly the same, but the interpretation can change depending on what the player focuses on.

Standalone Format and Future Plans

The Midnight Bus ends with one resolution, with no alternate paths or endings. However, the experience is part of a larger concept connected to a shared setting. The game is available online and was created as a self-contained story. Its focus is on timing, observation, and the feeling of being in one space for the duration of the experience. Future projects may revisit the same world with new events or characters, expanding on what begins here.
